Shut down the laptop

To begin shut down the laptop and disconnect the power cord. Flip the laptop over and
extract the removable battery

Remove the bezel

Now we can remove the bezel. Start from the left side and go around the perimeter unsnapping
the tabs at the top, right side and the bottom. Put the bezel aside

Remove four screws

Using a Phillips screwdriver remove four screws holding the LCD panel. Two screws at the top
and two more screws at the bottom. Place the LCD on the keyboard

Disconnect the video cable

Gently peel off the clear tape securing the video connector. Disconnect the video cable.
Discard the old panel

Connect the new screen

At this point the new LCD can be installed. Take the new LCD screen and place it on the keyboard.
Using both hands reconnect the video cable. Secure it with clear tape. CAUTION! It is very
important not to force any of the connectors. You must not twist or slant the connector when
plugging it in

Test the new screen

Make sure that the video cable stays in the correct position and lift the screen up aligning it with its
mounting holes. At this point the display can be tested, reconnect the power cord and press power.
If the start up graphics appear the LCD screen is connected properly. Pull out the power

Install the screen

Replace the four Phillips screws holding the LCD. One in each corner. Replace the bezel.
Start from hinge covers. Press firmly snapping the tabs back in place, then move up around the
perimeter to the top. Turn the laptop over and make sure that the bezel is snapped in near the
hinge cover

Replace the battery

Replace the battery and reconnect power.
Press the power button and if the start up graphics appears the LCD screen is installed
correctly, and we are done!
